Free Online PDF Editor

Edit your PDF files directly in your browser. Add text, signatures, highlights, and redactions, or reorganize pages, without installing any software. Our editor is free, secure, and easy to use.

  • Add Text: Insert new text anywhere on the page
  • Sign Documents: Draw or type your signature
  • Annotate: Highlight text or redact sensitive content
  • Secure: No file uploads - edits happen locally

Why edit PDFs in your browser?

Most free PDF editors require uploading your document to a server, which is a real concern for contracts, forms, and anything with personal information. This editor performs every edit — text, signatures, redactions, page reordering — directly in your browser tab, and can even open a password-protected PDF by prompting for the password locally rather than refusing to load it.

Editing tools

Editing tools

  • Text & signatures: Add typed text or a drawn/typed signature anywhere on a page
  • Highlight & redact: Mark up text or permanently black out sensitive content
  • Page organizer: Reorder, rotate, or remove pages via drag and drop
  • Encrypted PDF support: Prompts for a password locally if the uploaded PDF is protected

How to Use

  1. Open your PDF in the editor
  2. Use the toolbar to select tools (Text, Signature, Highlight, Redact, Organize)
  3. Click on the page to add elements
  4. Save and download your edited PDF

💡 Pro Tips

  • Use "Redact" rather than just drawing a black box with the highlight tool — redaction removes the underlying content, not just paints over it visually.
  • If your PDF is password-protected, you'll be prompted for the password before editing — the tool needs it to actually decrypt the document, not just to unlock the viewer.
