Terms of Use
These Terms explain how the Karvics zero-knowledge toolkit and premium audits operate, the responsibilities you retain, and how to escalate issues.
Welcome to Karvics ("we", "our", "us"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to our website, zero-knowledge utilities, and premium audit services.
By using Karvics you acknowledge the distinction between client-side and server-side workflows and agree to accept full responsibility for the data you process.
01. Architecture & Service Model
Karvics is intentionally built around a client-side architecture. Most utilities execute entirely in your browser where everything stays in RAM, while a small premium tier relies on managed infrastructure for audits, SSL lookups, or security scans.
Client-side execution
PDF utilities, encryption, TOON conversion, and similar tasks run locally via JavaScript/WebAssembly.
- •Data never leaves your device, so Karvics servers never receive or store it.
- •Performance and file-size limits are capped only by your CPU/RAM.
- •Work disappears after the tab closes unless you export it.
Managed infrastructure
Diagnostics such as the SEO Auditor, SSL Checker, and Security Scanner require remote crawlers.
- •Data is transmitted via HTTPS, processed strictly for the requested audit, then deleted.
- •Access requires Google or GitHub OAuth. No passwords are stored.
- •Each premium workflow discloses its server-side behavior inside the UI.
02. User Responsibilities & Conduct
You are the Data Controller
Because client-side tools never upload your files, you remain fully responsible for compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, or any other rules tied to your workload.
Manage Keys & Passwords
Encryption keys generated with the Web Crypto API stay in your browser memory. Lost passphrases or passwords cannot be recovered by Karvics.
No Malicious Use
Do not weaponize our utilities to generate malware, brute-force accounts you do not own, or overwhelm premium APIs through scraping or DDoS attempts.
03. Intellectual Property
Platform ownership
The Karvics codebase, TOON format specification, and design system remain our intellectual property. Reverse engineering, reselling, or cloning the experience requires prior written consent.
You keep ownership
For zero-knowledge tools we never receive your files. Premium workflows receive a temporary license solely to perform the requested audit, and processing artifacts are deleted once the report is generated.
04. Disclaimers
!THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE".
05. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Karvics (and its developer) will not be liable for:
- –Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost revenue, data, or goodwill.
- –Security events that originate from your hardware, operating system, or network (for example, malware reading browser memory).
- –Loss of unsaved notes or cached work if your browser clears storage or the tab closes before you export the output.
If you pay for a premium feature, aggregate liability is capped at the amount you paid for that feature.
06. Modifications to Service
We may update algorithms (for example pdf-lib releases or encryption primitives), adjust which tools are premium, or retire legacy experiences with reasonable notice. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
07. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Karvics operates. Conflicts of law principles do not apply, and disputes will be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
If any clause is deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
08. Contact & Feedback
Questions about these Terms or reports about tool accuracy can be sent through our contact page. You can also reach the developer via the public GitHub tracker.
When contacting us about premium workflows, include timestamps, tool names, and the OAuth identity used so we can investigate quickly.
